There are many luxury hotels in Punta Cana
Looking to travel to the Caribbean in luxury? Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic has many hotels to choose from. Using the Melia App, you can easily book your stay with a 5-star hotel like the Grande Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real. Enjoy a few days relaxing in their Inner Circle pool suites, with 24/7 concierge, shuttles to neighboring hotels, beautiful beaches & many excursions to choose from. I recently traveled to Punta Cana with a group of friends and stayed at the Grande Reserve with a day trip to Macao Beach, a locals surf beach perfect for a day to learn how to surf.
The Grande Reserve Paradisus – Palma Real
When you arrive at the Grande Reserve you are greeted with a tasteful cocktail, beautiful tall white walls, and a personal concierge to assist you with any extra bookings. My concierge contacted me via Whatsapp, so having a virtual concierge was pretty cool, although they are also there in person you can choose to only connect virtually.
I highly suggest staying in one of the Inner Circle suites, just steps away from the pool, with a personal cabana & your own private outdoor hot tub! Although most of the food was good, their in-room cheeseburgers were pure excellence. Get to the buffet early, as it tends to be its busiest at 10am.
Luxury Beach & Spa
A shuttle will take you over to Playa Bávaro where all exclusive service is awaiting to help to relax! Grab a cabana & a few cocktails and just listen to the ocean waves. You can also do some water sports, like sailing a hobie or go paragliding. If the spa is more of a relaxing time for you, make an appointment at MAIA Signature Spa as soon as you arrive. The Lomi Juma was a perfect massage the morning after our surf day. Download the Maia Spa Menu here to see what other services they offer.
I was so comfortable in my Ruffles High Waisted Pants from Charm&Boutique. My sisters online boutique that helps 6% of proceeds to a charitable cause of your choice.
Surfing In Punta Cana
A Day trip to Macao Beach
Macao Beach is a surf camp. The waves are excellent for beginners and there are instructors there waiting to help you get started. The experience will be a highlight to your trip because it is filled with adventure, food, and locals giving you little gifts, like a handmade bracelet or necklace, in return to just check out their shop. As they told me, “You are the Boss!”
Travel & Covid-19
These Luxury Hotels respect all guests and the CDC. Make sure you have a mask with you because they are required in the lobby, restaurants, and most bar tops. They provide Free Covid tests if you are required a Negative result to travel back. Your dedicated concierge will make sure he schedules it for you.
Whether you’re flying private or commercial into PUJ, the only other documents you need are a valid passport & an eTicket which is a virtual form required to enter or depart national territories. Mind you a couple of us got scammed through an identical site charging us $79 per entry/departing. This is actually a free form and you should not pay for it. Use this ETicket link here for the correct form to fill out FREE!
